The aim of this test was to confirm the damage for splash effects. A theory existed that the distance from the point of impact is a factor in splash damage. Another theory exists that all targets caught within the splash are hit for 50% damage.

Initially tests were conducted using "*d full" to determine if all players hit by a splash are damaged for the same amount. This is not the case. The game calculates the damage seperately for each player hit.

36 tests were then conducted using Cold Ball II. The splash damages were tested at 3 distances from point of impact. The splash-radius of Cold Ball II can be measured in-game as approximately 3.5 "square tiles" in the Cathedral main hall. The values given below are measured in such tiles.
